Maidenhead-based international software company takes part in local tree planting project 21 February 2022 As part of its ongoing pledge to sustainability and supporting the community, local software solutions provider, MCS Rental Software, recently participated in a tree-planting project to plant 8,000 trees by the end of March. Taking place at Ockwells Park, the tree planting project will create a wildlife corridor between the Site of Special Scientific Interest, Great Thrift Wood, and other areas around Ockwells Park. Over time, the goal is to encourage the rich and rare plants and flowers to gradually spread and replenish into a large area of rich flora and fauna. Guy van der Knaap, MCS Managing Director, continues, “Taking part in this project to create a wildlife corridor at Ockwells Park is a great way for us to give back to our local community and improve our natural parks and areas in the borough. Increasing biodiversity and enriching our green areas is vital, and so creating these links between different habitats and woodland areas will help wildlife to thrive.” The MCS Team took a day out of the office and planted over 160 trees, and created a bark and woodchip pathway to enable better access for more volunteers to get involved in the project. Guy concludes, “We are so proud to be able to contribute to our local community and help in a wider project to increase biodiversity at Ockwells Park, and we can’t wait to revisit the site over the coming months and years to watch the habitats develop over time. It is a brilliant project and one that we are delighted to be a part of.” Previous Article Availability in the Rental Industry Next Article MCS’ CounterSign eliminates paper at the hire counter Back to List
