Rental Software Supplier, MCS, develops new functionality to enable rental companies to send text message alerts to customers on driver delivery routes, notifying them of expected arrival times.
The new functionality means that rental customers receive timely notifications about deliveries. When a driver starts their route, MCS Resource Planning System sends a text message to customers who opt to receive them, enabling them to plan their day more efficiently and to avoid wasted time.
Josh Lewis, President MCS Inc, explains,
“By implementing delivery alerts via text, rental companies and customers are able to communicate more efficiently, resulting in increased customer satisfaction. This is a real added-value for our customers; they can now provide even better service and reduce delays upon delivery with clear communication from the moment the driver leaves the depot.”
MCS Rental Software users can configure the text content to suit their business and to better inform their customers. For example, the delivery time window can be specified to a one or two hour time slot. This gives rental companies control of what information is being sent to their customers. Text messages are delivered to all customers that appear on the driver’s route so they know when to expect delivery and can ensure someone is available to receive the equipment on-site.
Josh Lewis, President MCS Inc, continues,
“This feature allows rental customers to plan deliveries into their busy schedules, improving the customer’s relationship with the rental company. Ultimately, automated text notifications keep customers informed in such a way that they do not need to call customer support as frequently. With rental customers now being notified about their delivery window, they can ensure the right person is available at the right time, resulting in fewer missed deliveries and saving both the rental company and customer valuable time.”
